Public development banks and private financiers for food security and food systems

On 19 December 2022 from 13:30 CET, ECDPM, IFAD and CDP,  are co-organising a closed-door meeting, in consultation with FAO, to discuss the role public development banks can play in food systems.

This is a hybrid event (taking place in Rome and online) and is a follow-up to the informal side event held at this year's Finance in Common Summit (FICS) which took place in October 2022.

Public development banks (PDBs) have an important role to play in food security and blended finance for upscaling investments in sustainable food systems.

The event will therefore take stock of:

  • What is a bankable project for Sustainable Food Systems (SFS)
  • How can blended finance best support SFS
  • How to solve the bottlenecks identified during the October side event.

The report of the October side event is available here.
