Roundtable
Pathways to EU-Mediterranean green industrial integration
On 27 October 2026 from 14:00 to 15:30 CET, ECDPM will host a virtual dialogue to present and test emerging findings from recent ECDPM analysis on ongoing developments and pathways to green industrialisation in Morocco, Egypt, and Türkiye, and the implications and opportunities for EU–Mediterranean cooperation in renewable energy, green industries, and clean tech.
Background
Drawing on ECDPM analysis of green industrial developments in Egypt, Morocco and Türkiye, as well as European financing mechanisms for clean energy and industrial projects in the Mediterranean, the dialogue will explore how EU-Mediterranean industrial cooperation is evolving amid shifts in global energy markets, EU industrial and trade policies, and growing energy and economic security concerns.
Bringing together policymakers, financial institutions, businesses and experts from Europe and countries from the Southern Mediterranean, we will discuss what these changes mean for emerging initiatives such as the EU’s Trans-Mediterranean Renewable Energy and Clean-Tech Cooperation Initiative (T-MED) and its investment platform.
The discussion will focus on three areas:
- the alignment of EU and Southern Mediterranean industrial policies;
- financing and mobilisation of private capital; and
- strategic procurement and emerging EU preference measures.
