Karim Karaki
Biography
Karim Karaki is the head of ECDPM's economic recovery and transformation team.
At ECDPM, Karim leads our work on climate and development finance, focusing on the role of multilateral and European financial institutions and external investment instruments in advancing sustainable growth, resilience and competitiveness. His work also explores how European and local private sectors can drive economic transformation and recovery, particularly across Africa and in the context of Ukraine’s reconstruction.
Before joining ECDPM, Karim worked for the European Investment Bank (EIB) within the Projects Directorate, contributing to investment operations and policies supporting sustainable development objectives. He also advised multilateral and EU institutions as part of PwC Luxembourg’s public sector advisory practice, with a focus on strategy, policy, and financial instruments.
Karim holds a Master’s degree in Business and Development Studies from the Copenhagen Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from Toulouse Business School. He is also a European Think Tank Group (ETTG) Sherpa and a certified PRINCE2 project management practitioner.
