Mariella Di Ciommo is a Policy Officer in the European External Affairs programme. Before joining ECDPM she worked in different roles at Development Initiatives in the UK and then in Brazil. In Brazil, as a Strategic Partnerships Manager, she led DI’s work on data for development at country level and international engagement on South-South cooperation, climate finance and poverty.
She authored a number of publications on South–South cooperation, data for development, transparency and development financing, in particular to nutrition, health and agriculture.
Before joining Development Initiatives, Mariella worked in Italy, Bolivia and Brazil in the fields of sustainability, social development and citizen empowerment for local organisations and Caritas Internationalis. She holds a master in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics and one in Economics from Bocconi University.
