Senior Policy Analyst – European foreign and development policy

Biography


Mariella Di Ciommo is a senior policy analyst in ECDPM's European foreign and development policy team. Mariella’s work focuses on EU foreign and development policy, including the EU-long term budget, implications for Europe of China's global engagement and gender equality.

Before joining ECDPM, Mariella worked for Development Initiatives, an organisation focused on harnessing data for development. She progressed from the role of a data analyst to leading the data analysis and policy engagement work of the organisation on South-South cooperation, both in the UK and Brazil. She focused the rest of her work on global development financing, global climate and nutrition financing and data for development at the country level in Brazil. 

Before joining Development Initiatives, Mariella worked in Italy, Bolivia and Brazil in the fields of sustainability, social development and citizen empowerment, for local organisations and Caritas Internationalis. She holds master’s degrees in social anthropology from the London School of Economics and in economics from Bocconi University.
