COP27 side event: Promoting more and better (blended) finance for the adaptation of African food systems
In the scope of COP27, ECDPM and FAO are organising this hybrid workshop on 9 November 2022 at 12:00-13:00 pm CET (13:00-14:00 EET) to contribute to the identification of actions and partnership-building for increasing sustainable investment and finance for the adaptation and transformation of food systems under climate change.
ECDPM staff involved
This workshop will focus on the challenges and lessons learnt around access to finance for local food system actors and local financial intermediaries, and on informing COP27 negotiators with innovative ideas from the COP27 Blue Zone.
The workshop will aim to:
- Showcase best practices around blended finance to support the adaptation of food systems
- Provide actionable recommendations for including the financing of adaptation of food systems in the global responses to the emerging global food crisis
- Provide actionable recommendations on how to enhance the adaptation of food systems in country-level investment processes in Africa, with a special focus on the role of the private sector
