EEAS Mediation Support Pilot Project: Evaluatory Review

The EEAS started in 2011 a one-year pilot project to follow up on the Concept on Strengthening EU Mediation and Dialogue Capacities, adopted by the Council of the European Union in November 2009. The project, implemented by the EEAS Conflict Prevention, Peacebuilding and Mediation Instruments Division, began to address the strategic aspects of mediation in the context of EU external action, support mediation activities, help mobilising expertise and strengthen internal mediation capacities through knowledge exchange and training. An evaluatory review was conducted by ECDPM towards the end of the pilot phase to feed recommendations into the work of the EEAS’ Meditation Support Team.
