Nexus25 strategic foresight workshop: Mapping future risks for the EU-Africa Partnership
On 20 January 2026 from 08:30 until 12:30 CET, ECDPM, in partnership with the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), and Center for Climate and Security (CCS), will host a strategic foresight workshop, organised within the framework of the project 'Nexus25 Shaping Multilateralism'.
This is a closed-door and invite-only event.
Background
This closed-door discussion will bring together representatives from African embassies and missions in Brussels, European institutions and EU bodies, as well as experts from think tanks and research organisations. Using a strategic foresight exercise, participants will work together to prioritise risks, explore future scenarios, and challenge key assumptions related to the climate–security–development nexus.
The workshop will address themes such as the food–migration nexus in Africa, the external implications of EU regulatory actions, including the CBAM and the EUDR, and the evolving relationships between Europe, Africa, and China, alongside other emerging dynamics.
