Emergence of AI: Challenges & Opportunities for Europe and India

On 31 October 2025 from 10:00-12:30, ECDPM will host a high-level event on EU-India Cooperation on Artificial Intelligence on the sidelines of the EU-India Trade and Technology Council (TTC) working group meeting on 'Strategic technologies, digital governance and digital connectivity' in Brussels.  This event will explore how AI can be harnessed to drive innovation, economic growth, and societal well-being. With both regions advancing ambitious digital agendas, the discussion will also highlight shared priorities and opportunities for deeper collaboration in AI.

By fostering an open, trusted, and innovation-driven ecosystem, the EU and India are well positioned to jointly shape the global discourse on responsible AI development and governance. The event will feature a keynote address featuring S. Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, followed by an engaging panel discussion with key officials from the European Commission, as well as industry and academia. 

This event also aims to facilitate strategic engagement and policy dialogue between EU and Indian stakeholders in the lead up to the AI Impact Summit, to be hosted by India in New Delhi in February 2026.
