The political economy of regional integration in Africa - The African Union
Together with Palladium and the Swedish Embassy in Nairobi, ECDPM undertook a big research project from July 2014 until February 2016. This PERIA (political economy of regional integration in Africa) project aimed to answer the following questions: what drives and constrains regional integration in Africa? And what role do regional organisations play in this?
This case study looks at the African Union, and focuses on peace and security, infrastructure, food security, gender and climate change.
