Toward coordinated climate–agrifood financing: AgriPDB-FAST–G7 collaborative dialogue
On 23rd March 2026 from 14:00–16:30 CET, ECDPM, together with the AgriPDB Platform, the FAST Partnership and the G7 PDBs/DFI Collaborative, are organising an informal convening to strengthen coordination across their complementary work on climate finance, food systems transformation, and development banking.
Background
The AgriPDB Platform, the FAST Partnership and the G7 PDBs/DFI Collaborative on Sustainable Food Systems are each advancing complementary efforts at the intersection of climate finance, food systems transformation, and public/private development banking. Over the past months, all three initiatives have expressed a shared interest in deepening coordination - particularly around concrete pilots, investment pipelines, and support to country-level implementation. All three initiatives have recognised that stronger coordination among platforms, financial institutions, and national public development banks (PDBs) could accelerate tangible delivery, especially in Africa and in countries where the FAST Partnership, AgriPDB members, and G7 PDBs/DFIs are already active.
The discussion will focus on practical ways to improve information sharing on financial instruments, foster stronger links between international financial institutions and national PDBs, and identify scalable financing approaches aligned with country-led priorities. It will also provide an opportunity to highlight early-stage investment concepts, clarify complementarities across initiatives, and explore mechanisms to strengthen coordination.
The meeting forms part of a broader informal dialogue process aimed at unlocking synergies, aligning ongoing efforts, and advancing concrete, joint actions - without creating new structures - towards tangible results in 2026 and beyond.
