Register for the eventEurope faces many choices as it aims to increase its digital security and resilience, whilst improving its competitiveness and influence through dialogue and partnerships. ECDPM is very glad to invite you to a discussion of the policy blueprint, The European Way, and its interplay with Europe’s international digital policy.
The event will focus on the role of geopolitics and of international partnerships in building more resilient and secure digital infrastructure. Written by leading policy thinkers, “The European Way” offers the European institutions a coherent vision with six ambitious reforms spanning the entire tech stack. The European Way is not about isolationism, nostalgia, or economic nationalism. It recognises the global nature and complexity of today’s digital value chains - where a single chip crosses multiple borders - and firmly advocates international cooperation. But cooperation must be based on trust and reciprocity, and building strong international partnerships to secure the EU's digital foundations, diversify its supply chains, and lead globally in open, rules-based innovation.
The event will include a presentation of the paper, followed by a roundtable bringing together policymakers and experts to discuss the paper’s recommendations, and the place of international cooperation in ‘The European Way.’
