Background

This roundtable is convened in preparation for the World Local Production Forum (WLPF), organised by the World Health Organization in Abu Dhabi from April 7-9, 2025. At the WLPF, Wemos will contribute as a speaker to the panel discussion on Fostering Policy Coherence and Government Commitment.

This roundtable will bring together representatives from the European Union, European and African governments, TESS MAV+, civil society organisations and intergovernmental organisations. The discussion will focus on ongoing initiatives, challenges, and best practices in advancing regional production capacities. Through this exchange, we seek to foster mutual learning, identify opportunities for collaboration, and enhance collective efforts to strengthen and invest in sustainable health product manufacturing in the African region.
