Launch of The State of Migration in East and Horn of Africa Report in Brussels

On 19 June 2023 from 12:00-14:00 CEST, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and ECDPM are hosting the launch of 'The State of Migration in East and Horn of Africa Report', which will take place at the ECDPM premises (Avenue des Arts 44, 1000 Brussels). A light lunch will be served from 12:00-12:30. As the space is limited, registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

The report focuses on the mobility dimensions of regional integration and is co-published with the East African Community (EAC) and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). Intra-African trade, labour mobility, climate change, digitalization, integrated border management, and sustainable reintegration are some of the topics covered in the report.

The launch of the report in Brussels aims to shed light on the contributions of the report’s findings to implementation of the recently adopted EU-AU Summit Joint Vision for 2030. It will also serve as a unique platform to draw valuable insights from the European Union's integration experiences, with the ultimate goal of leveraging these lessons thereby informing migration policy and practice in East and Horn of Africa Region.
