Pål Klouman Bekken (Fellow)
Biography
Pål (Paul) Klouman Bekken is a Norwegian diplomat with over 20 years of experience working in conflict areas, including Afghanistan, Russia, and other regions. He previously served as Norway's Special Representative for Afghanistan and has extensive expertise in fragile-state reconstruction and conflict resolution.
Currently, Pål is on a two-year sabbatical based in Paris, where he balances his diplomatic background with his professional interest in finance and investment. He possesses significant financial expertise, including experience in real estate investment management, and holds a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School as well as an executive program degree from NYU Stern. His recent advisory and research work focuses on the intersection of public and private finance, specifically regarding the mobilisation of private capital for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
