Niklas Mayer (Associate)
Biography
Niklas Mayer is a PhD researcher at Maastricht University in the Netherlands and a guest researcher at Wolaita Sodo University in Ethiopia. His research focuses on the influence of climate change and climate change resilience-building projects on mobility patterns and migration aspirations of farmers and pastoralists.
Niklas teaches migration and development-related topics at various universities throughout Europe and in Ethiopia. He is involved in consultancy projects with GIZ, ICMPD, FES, ECDPM and KAS, among others, and gained working and internship experience at the European Commission, ECDPM, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the German Chamber of Commerce, and the European Parliament.
