Biography

Mark Pearson is an economist who has been living and working as a consultant to African governments, regional economic organisations, donor organisations and the private sector in Africa over the last 40 plus, mainly in the Eastern and Southern Africa region and the Horn of Africa region, but also with experience in West Africa and parts of North Africa. He has in-depth knowledge from working on trade, transport, infrastructure and regional integration issues since the 1990s.

He has managed large donor-funded projects and led multi-disciplinary teams of professionals working on infrastructure, trade facilitation, and trade policy in a regional context. Mark's recent work has been on trade facilitation and logistics, trade policy, value chains and investment opportunities in infrastructure in Africa, including various technical studies linked to the EU Global Gateway Corridors.
