Biography

Lidet Tadesse Shiferaw is the head of the Inclusive governance and accountability workstream.  

Lidet specialises in  African peace and security issues, the AU and its partnerships with the EU and China, AU governance and peace and security management, Africa’s role in multilateralism, and geopolitics of the Horn of Africa.

Prior to joining ECDPM, Lidet worked with a variety of civil society organisations in the Horn of Africa as an independent peacebuilding and advocacy consultant. She also worked as a policy advisor for the Life and Peace Institute’s Horn of Africa regional programme. Lidet holds a master’s degree in international peacebuilding from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor’s degree in integrated social sciences from the Jacobs University Bremen.
