Biography
Jan Vanheukelom retired from ECDPM in 2019, where he worked as a senior advisor on political economy and governance for more than a decade. From 2015 to 2016, Jan was the team leader of ECDPM’s PERIA project on the political economy of Africa’s main regional organisations.
Jan specialises in applying political economy approaches to development challenges in particular sectors, such as transport and security, as well as in processes such as North-South and South-South relations and partnerships. Jan was an active member of the community of practice on thinking and working politically.
