Biography
Dirk Meyer served as Director General in the Federal Government of Germany until September 2025.
Before joining the federal administration, he held leadership roles in several ministries of North Rhine-Westphalia, focusing on labour, health, energy, and research. At the Federal Ministry for the Environment and the Federal Ministry for Development, he served as Director-General from 2018 to 2025, leading departments on global health, digital transformation, climate policy, food security, multilateralism and financing. His career reflects a long-standing commitment to sustainable development, innovation, and effective public administration.
