AfRi Practice Hub website launch

On 7 July 2026 from 11:00-12:00 CEST, African Integration Day, ECDPM, in collaboration with the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance, will host an online launch for a new African Regional Integration initiative: the AfRI Practice Hub. Given the importance of the African integration agenda and the challenge of moving from policy to practice, whether around trade agreements, corridors or regional value chains, this webinar will lay out the goals of the initiative, introduce a new online map tool and website, and discuss how to make this initiative useful in contributing to African economic integration as a means for inclusive economic growth.

Background

The AfRi Practice Hub provides a go-to hub for understanding regional integration in Africa. Designed for both newcomers and seasoned professionals and policymakers, it provides a comprehensive overview of Africa’s diverse regional organisations, trade agreements, transport corridors and value chains. By centralising expert analysis, practical resources and expert support, the hub aims to help turn Africa’s integration ambitions into reality.

The AfRi Practice Hub is structured according to three key objectives of African regional integration: cooperation through regional organisations, trade along corridors and industrialisation through value chains. We examine these dimensions individually, but also explore the dynamic interplay between all three.

Partners

The AfRi Practice Hub is an initiative by ECDPM with researchers from The Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance at the University of Cape Town. It is funded by the European Union under the Team Europe Technical Assistance Facility to Support the AfCFTA and Continental Economic Integration (EU-TAF).
