Bethany Tietjen, a U.S. national, is an intern in the Sustainable Food Systems team of ECDPM’s Economic and Agricultural Transformation Programme. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, with concentrations in environmental resource policy and gender analysis. She is interested in the intersection between food security, climate change, and gender, as well as the flows of climate funding toward agricultural adaptation.
Alongside her work with ECDPM, Bethany works as a research assistant at the Global Development and Environment institute at Tufts University. In this role, she reports on international climate summits, plans regional meetings and symposiums on soil health, and assists researchers with policy briefs on climate change mitigation and natural climate solutions. Prior to her Master’s studies, Bethany worked in Guatemala, Vietnam, and Thailand as a teacher, researcher, and consultant for various schools, nonprofits, and social enterprises.
