Tomorrow, the Brussels Binder will be launched. The Binder offers to policymakers, think tanks, media and NGOs a long-awaited tool: a database of female experts working in all things Europe, from the biomedical field to EU foreign policy, development cooperation, fiscal policy and trade negotiations. The Brussels Binder was born out of the observation that, even in 2018, women still get invited less to speak, are still underrepresented in public debate.
Inclusion and diversity can only contribute to better-informed policy debates. In our day-to-day work, we have faced challenges in living up to that commitment. The Brussels Binder takes away any excuse for think tanks and public institutions not to invite female experts to speak, take the stage and participate actively in public debate. ECDPM supports this initiative full-heartedly and is one of its official members.
