Today, a group of 112 companies and organisations – among which ECDPM – call for a Dutch coalition agreement in which the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) take up a central place. The appeal is an initiative by De Groene Zaak and Partos.
[Update 7 April: the current number of signatories is 236]
The signatories stress the importance of the SDG agenda for our society and our future generations. They urge that all policies should take into account the SDGs, to which the Netherlands committed in 2015.
The group furthermore argues that the focus of taxation should shift from labour to raw materials and that the trend of declining budgets for development cooperation should be reversed. Not only should this lead to a more competitive Dutch economy, it should also contribute to a better society – in the Netherlands as well as worldwide.
