
Kawsar Laanani
Biography
Kawsar Laanani is a junior policy officer in ECDPM's inclusive governance and accountability and peace, security and resilience teams.
Kawsar's work focuses on security, conflict and governance issues in North and West Africa, and on processes of religious radicalisation and violent extremism, based on a human security approach. She also works on advancing the understanding of post-colonial power dynamics in international relations.
Kawsar holds a master’s degree in international security from Sciences Po Paris, for which she specialised in understanding religious and socio-political realities in North Africa and the Middle East. Before joining ECDPM, Kawsar worked as a research assistant at UNESCO and as a researcher at the Observatory of the Middle Eastern Heritage.
