The Trade and Development Symposium will feature a series of high-level plenaries that will bring together a wide range of stakeholders to discuss the most pressing challenges facing the global trade community in particular, and the international community at large.

On Tuesday 15 December 2015, at 8:30am, in the margin of the 10th WTO Ministerial Conference in Nairobi, the African Union Commission will organise in partnership with ECDPM and ICTSD a high-level panel to discuss concrete actions being taken by African continent to upgrade its participation in global value chains while pursuing its objective of harnessing its resources for economic transformation. This panel is entitled “Resources-based industrialisation and global value chains in Africa: Putting words to action” and will be moderated by ECDPM’s Isabelle Ramdoo.
