The “New Geopolitics of Peace Operations II” project is now being concluded with the report: African Directions: Towards an Equitable Partnership in Peace Operations:

This initiative was conducted by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) in partnership with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), with support from the Foreign Ministries of Finland and the Netherlands.

The overall objective of this initiative is to provide insights into the diverse African perspectives on peace operations in Africa and the views of African and external actors on their required cooperation, as well as stimulate international debate on the main challenges. Jair van der Lijn, Head of the Peace Operation and Conflict Management Team of SIPRI, will present the findings of the final report, that are largely based on five regional dialogues in Africa and a global dialogue meeting in which also external actors participated.
