Promoting efficient transport corridors in West Africa is key to effective regional integration, trade and economic growth. To this end many development partners are supporting efforts led by Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), ‘Union économique et monétaire ouest africaine’ UEMOA and national authorities to improve the conditions that shippers, transporters and small-scale traders in West Africa face when engaging in cross-border trade.

The first day will be dedicated to the Abidjan Lagos Corridor and will be led by the AfDB and the ECOWAS Commission. The second day will focus on the three corridors covered by the ATWA project and be facilitated by the ATWA project team.

ECDPM’s Bruce Byiers and Fabien Tondel will make a presentation.
