Methodology Meeting on South-South and Triangular Cooperation and Strategy Meeting on the Future of Southern Voice

South-South Cooperation (SSC) has been identified as a potential source of development inputs for the implementation of the post-2015 international development agenda. Triangular cooperation (Trc), in which traditional donor countries and multilateral organisations facilitate South-South initiatives, is also being promoted in this regard. This aspiration has been underpinned by the emergence of the Global South as a major actor in,inter alia international trade, investment, finance and knowledge transfer.

In view of the ‘coming of age’ of the notion of SSC along with Trc, and taking note of the emerging demands on its account, Southern Voice on Post-MDG International Development Goals seeks to revisit the ideas and practices of these forms of development cooperation. This will be done to explore the ‘second generation’ issues pertaining to the revealed experience in the area of SSC to date.
