The Workshop will have two panels, adressing the following issues:
• What is the EU’s added value in supporting the private sector? How can this be complementary to the actions already carried out and partnerships established by Member States?
• What should the best design of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) support-instruments look like and how to measure their impact for private sector development?
• How can the EU ensure that its private sector partners meet the relevant principles and criteria that are necessary for contributing to sustainable development?
• What should regulatory frameworks that aim to foster private sector development and private sector engagement for development look like – taking into account national contexts (such as state fragility, or lack of good governance and the rule of law)?
ECDPM’s Bruce Byiers will make a presentation.
