In close cooperation with the Foundation Max van der Stoel (FMS) and Woord en Daad, Partos will take the opportunity of the Dutch EU Presidency (first semester of 2016) to put the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) high on the political agenda.

Together with civil society organisations (members of Partos, environmental organisations etc.) and other stakeholders we would like to convince the government to review its policies in order to implement the SDGs in a successful way, both on the national as on the international level. This refers to development cooperation policy as well as to policies in the areas of energy, migration, taxes, and trade of the Netherlands and the EU on the whole. Now is the moment to promote a successful and coherent implementation, to make sure that by 2030 the world has become fair and sustainable, with important roles for the Netherlands and the EU.

ECDPM’s Paul Engel will give the opening speech at this kick-off event.
