The European Strategy and Policy Analysis System (ESPAS) promotes inter-institutional cooperation between the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of the EU, and the European External Action Service to identify global long-term trends facing the European Union and its decision-makers, with the support
of the European Committee of the Regions and of the European Economic and Social Committee.

The 2016 Annual Conference is part of a three-year cycle of events which draws on the insights of the ESPAS report Global Trends to 2030: Can the EU meet the challenges ahead?

This year’s edition of the conference is dedicated to ‘Society and Governance’ and brings together leading global experts and practitioners to explore innovations in the world of work and welfare, public services and governance.
