Intergovernmental Conference on the Global Compact for Migration: Side event on Migration, Trade and the Global Economy

The Intergovernmental Conference to Adopt the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration takes place in Marrakech on the 10th and 11th of December, 2018, and is hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco.

The purpose of the Conference is to formally adopt the Global Compact for Migration, as agreed by the Member States of the United Nations on the 13th of July, 2018.

As part of Morocco’s Migration Week, side events precede the Intergovernmental Conference and will take place from the 8th to the 9th of December, 2018.  ECDPM are co-organising the side event on ‘Migration, Trade and the Global Economy’ along with International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), International Organization for Migration (IOM), National Center for Competence in Research (nccr-on the move), and OCP Policy Center.

ECDPM’s Amanda Bisong will be a panellist on Panel II: “Aid for Trade placed in the Context of Youth Unemployment in the Case of Maghreb Countries” while Anna Knoll will be moderating the debate.
