The conference will encourage new thinking for teaming policy relevance with methodological quality in development evaluations and tackles the crucial issue of better bridging the gap between policy-making and development evaluations.
During the event you will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, knowledge and expertise with policy makers, implementing practitioners, evaluators, and researchers about best practices in evaluation and about the usage of evidence drawn from evaluations for policy making.
The conference programme focuses on specific and innovative topics of development evaluation: Leading experts in the respective field will provide an overview of results on specific subjects (rural development, inequality, aid and trade) and discuss current challenges for development evaluations in the light of methodological requirements for evaluating complex interventions, new techniques (such as geocoding), new development paradigms (ending aid, the legitimacy of aid, global public goods), various institutional environments, and growing policy demands.
