On 1 December Germany officially takes over the G20 Presidency from China. With the beginning of Germany’s G20 Presidency for 2016/2017, the T20 will hold its inaugural conference of this year’s process, which will jointly be coordinated by the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy / Kieler Institut für Weltwirtschaftsforschung (IfW). The conference will feature and enable discussions and exchange between Think Tanks from G20 countries with a strong representation of experts from emerging economies.
Under the Leitmotif of Cohesion in Diversity the conference will bring together Thinks Tanks from a diverse range of countries, subjects and views that are eager to contribute to the 2017 G20 process in a constructive and coherent way. At the same time, the leitmotif relates to the societal challenges G20 members face as well as to the challenge for the G20 as a diverse group to work jointly for the global common good.
