Future Development Agencies Conference

By invitation only

The conference follows the successful event last year and is now the flagship annual event of ODI’s programme on Future Development Agencies.

The core proposition is that donors face numerous challenges, including ambitious new goals in the SDGs, a growing number of potential partners and intense public scrutiny at home. The conference will bring together heads of agencies, directors and other senior officials from bilateral and multilateral organisations, as well as policy strategists and leading thinkers in a unique and private setting to share perspectives, and to think long term and strategically about what it means to be a resilient donor in this changing environment.

Sessions will deal with the importance of strategic planning and decision-making, identifying a niche in the crowded donor marketplace, organisational design choices to achieve policy coherence, and effective human resourcing approaches for the new agenda. As with last year, there will not be formal panels, but rather opening interventions for each session followed by an interactive discussion.
