The Expanding APRM Mandate – Enhancing the Role of the APRM in Monitoring and Evaluation and Harmonisation of its Activities within the AGA Framework
2017 is the year in which the now restored African Peer Review Mechanism will be taken to its next phase, that of reinvigoration. This is the phase during which APRM aims to, in the words of its Strategic Plan, re-energise and intensify commitment to its mandate by, inter alia, “repositioning the APRM, in collaboration with other institutions, as one of the mechanisms for monitoring and supporting attainment of the African Union Agenda 2063 and the global 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.”
