Created in 2004, the African Peace Facility (APF) supports African efforts to promote peace and security on the continent. Since then, this instrument has make the EU an enabler of the deployment of African-led Peace Support Operations (PSOs) providing a formal platform for policymaking and debate contributing to capacity building of the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA).

The European Commission has organised an external cooperation Infopoint where four experts discussed the lessons learned through the evaluation of the implementation of the African Peace Facility 2014-2016.

ECDPM’s Volker Hauck and James Mackie spoke at this event.
