New Deal Working Group

The Implementation Working Group (IWG) will provide an opportunity for members to take stock of the findings of first New Deal Monitoring Report. This will include a discussion on the lessons learnt about the monitoring process itself with a view to improving it, going forward. Members will also discuss how New Deal partners can build on achievements and seek to agree on what may be realistic achievements by 2015, including in crisis countries like CAR and S. Sudan. The IWG will also seek to agree on work priorities for the next year and its governance arrangements.

Global Meeting

In this session Ministers and high level representatives will reflect on the key political messages from the New Deal experience so far, and will discuss how the New Deal can help address the challenges of countries in crisis and transition, with focus on the Central African Republic, South Sudan, Somalia, and Guinea Bissau.

Justice Meeting

The meeting will focus on how to promote effective implementation of PSG 3 “Justice for all” of the New Deal Peace- and Statebuilding Goals (PSGs). High level representatives of the members of the International Dialogue and Ministers of Justice from g7+ and partner countries will discuss opportunities and challenges and share and identify best practices to support progress towards PSG 3.

Sierra Leone day

The Sierra Leone Day will highlight the country’s transition towards resilience. Participants will explore the nation’s past, examine its present state of development and learn about the Agenda for Prosperity, Sierra Leone’s third poverty reduction strategy. The day will be inaugurated by remarks from His Excellency, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
