A number of Dutch organisations and universities have sent an open letter to the Dutch House of Representatives, urging the government to reverse budget cuts on development cooperation and to increase the budget with €500 million. ECDPM’s Director Ewald Wermuth co-signed the letter.
The letter argues that Dutch contributions to fighting global poverty, hunger and instability have been successful, but most importantly, are indispensable – not only for those in need in developing countries, but also for the Netherlands. The full letter (in Dutch) can be found here.
