Panel Discussion

The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership and its Impact on Sub-Saharan Africa

Start:
25 February 2015 12:30 pm
End:
25 February 2015 2:30 pm

Discussion event with Eveline Herfkens based on her paper on the nexus of TTIP and trade regimes of the EU and the USA towards Sub-Sahara- African countries. While a lot of attention so far has been given to the impact of TTIP on the EU, we would like to discuss the effects on third countries, especially LDCs. One of the key question will be, whether the TTIP could improve market access for SSA by taking the best features of the respective preferential programmes or if we are facing a downward harmonisation.

ECDPM’s San Bilal will act as a discussant.
