With the increasing number of armed conflicts and civil wars, resorting to violence and military means seems to be the preferred way of conflict resolution.

The work of institutions and actors dedicated to promote sustainable development becomes more difficult. Simultaneously, security interventions are rarely systematically linked with development instruments.

During the event we would like to initiate an exchange of working experience at the interface of security and development cooperation. After an initial panel discussion, three working groups will discuss distinct topics, and highlight the challenges, approaches and synergies between development cooperation and security.
