The Communication “A Stronger Role of the Private Sector in Achieving Inclusive and Sustainable Growth in Developing Countries” lays the foundation for strengthened cooperation with the private sector in EU development policy. This offers opportunities to create employment, facilitate knowledge transfers and promote innovative finance mechanisms to foster inclusive and sustainable growth.

Concrete examples of Public-Private Partnerships can serve as best practices to advance this agenda and shed more light on its practical aspects. The experiences of the Netherlands in private sector engagement programmes such as the Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF) and the Sustainable Enterprise and Food Security Facility (FDOV) as part of the policy agenda for Aid, Trade and Investment are illustrative in this regard.

This seminar will elaborate on the policy framework at the national and EU level and present a number of partnerships that have been set up by the Netherlands in close cooperation with the private sector. Participants will be invited to share their views and contribute to the discussion.
